Postcard from Latvia

Every year on June 23, on the shortest night of the year Latvians celebrate the Summer Solstice locally called "Ligo" and the following "Jani". People sing and dance, and jump over bonfires awaiting the sunrise. Traditionally girls wear crowns of flowers and folk costumes with this particular one coming from Dagda district (Latgale region)
